Question #2: Should I take time off before law school?

That kind of thinking has it exactly backward. You've been "taking time off" from the real world of work to go to college, instead of starting work right after high school. I am proposing that you go back to the world of work after college--law-related work--before "taking time off" in your future to invest it in law school.
